About the Inner Child, Small Joys, and Kittens with Bows
When Kristīne Austere reached out to me with a special wish to create a girl-cat to join Doll Valodiņa and Cat Burtiņš on their visits and activities with children, I had no idea what a sweet and heartwarming creative journey it would turn into.
While working on the sketches and embroidering the little kittens' faces, I had the opportunity to add a special touch—soft, pink bows (crafted according to the client's wishes). Something magical happened during the sewing and embroidery process. I caught myself feeling like a little girl again, who simply wanted to hold the soft fabric kitten in her hands and cuddle it.
Maybe some might find it childish, but I truly believe that every now and then, we all need to set our inner child free. We often rush through life chasing big achievements, yet it is so hard to truly enjoy the big things if we first don't learn to notice and cherish the small moments.
Kristīne's order has already reached its new home. The girl-cat has set off to fulfill her important mission alongside Doll Valodiņa and Cat Burtiņš, while Kristīne's daughters have received their very own cuddle-cats too.
When work is done with pure, childlike joy and love, that energy remains in every single stitch. Thank you for the trust and for reminding me that the joy of creation lies in the finest details and warmest emotions!
